Plan a Cold Email Warm-up
And Write the Sequence

Sprites builds the ramp schedule, the deliverability checklist and the emails themselves. Your team runs it through the sending tool it already uses.

What this template does

This template produces two things: a warm-up plan for a new or cold sending domain, and the email sequence you will send once the domain can carry real volume. The plan covers the authentication records to set (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), a day-by-day volume ramp sized to the number of mailboxes you have, the reply and bounce signals to watch, and the point at which outreach can begin.

Sprites does not send email and does not run a warm-up network. It writes the plan and the copy. You load the sequence into your sending tool, follow the ramp, and come back with bounce and reply numbers when you want the next step adjusted. That split is deliberate: sending from your own tool keeps your domain reputation and your contact data where they belong.

The sequence itself is written from research rather than a stock template. Sprites reads your site and the pages of the accounts you name, works out the angle each segment will reply to, and drafts a first touch plus follow-ups that each add a new reason to respond instead of repeating the ask.

Inputs and outputs

What you provide

  • The sending domain and how many mailboxes you plan to send from
  • Whether the domain is brand new, has been dormant, or has been flagged before
  • Your ICP and the offer: who you are writing to and why they should care
  • Optional: a list of target accounts, or examples of past emails that got replies

What you get

  • A deliverability checklist covering SPF, DKIM, DMARC, a custom tracking domain and a plain-text test send
  • A volume ramp by day and mailbox, with the engagement signals that gate each increase
  • A four to six touch sequence with subject lines, a personalized opener and one clear ask per email
  • Opener variants for each segment where your list splits by role or industry
  • A monitoring plan: the bounce and reply thresholds that should pause sending

How it runs

  1. Step 1

    Assess the domain

Sprites asks about domain age, mailbox count and sending history, then writes the authentication and setup checklist you complete before any volume goes out.

  2. Step 2

    Size the ramp

Builds a day-by-day schedule that starts small, holds volume until reply and bounce numbers look healthy, and steps up only when the previous level held.

  3. Step 3

    Research the audience

Reads your site and the accounts or roles you name, and identifies the problem each segment is most likely to reply about.

  4. Step 4

    Write the sequence

Drafts the first touch and the follow-ups with short subject lines, one ask per email, and a break-up email that closes the loop politely.

  5. Step 5

    Hand off

You review and edit the copy, load it into your sending tool and follow the ramp. Bring back the numbers and Sprites adjusts the pace or rewrites what is not landing.

Frequently asked questions

Does Sprites send the warm-up emails for me?

+

No. Sprites writes the warm-up plan and the sequence copy; it does not send email or connect to a warm-up network. You run the ramp and the sequence through your own sending tool, which keeps your domain reputation and contact data under your control.

How long does a cold email warm-up take?

+

The plan Sprites writes usually spans two to four weeks depending on domain age and mailbox count. A brand new domain ramps slowly from a handful of emails per mailbox per day; a dormant one with clean history can move faster. The schedule tells you which signals allow each increase.

What goes into the deliverability checklist?

+

SPF, DKIM and DMARC records, a custom tracking domain if your tool adds link tracking, a plain-text test send to a few inboxes, and copy checks for the patterns that trigger filters: image-heavy bodies, link-heavy footers and spammy subject lines.

Can it rewrite a sequence I already use?

+

Yes. Paste the current emails and share the reply and bounce numbers. Sprites keeps what is working, rewrites the touches that are not, and flags anything in the copy that is likely hurting placement.

Can I run this from Claude or ChatGPT?

+

Yes. Sprites ships an official MCP server, so you can ask for the same warm-up plan and sequence from Claude, ChatGPT, Grok or any MCP-compatible assistant, or work in the Sprites app.
