What this template does

This template starts from examples, not from a list of generic formulas. You paste the text of posts that performed, or link to them, and Sprites reads each one to name the mechanism at work: a specific number, a contrarian claim, an unfinished story, a direct question to one reader. It then writes hooks for your topic that use those mechanisms, so the output sounds like the posts you admired rather than a swipe file.

When you do not have examples, Sprites researches the topic on the web to find how the people who write well about it open their posts, and uses that as the reference set. Either way the hooks are grouped by pattern and by platform, because a hook that works as the first line of a LinkedIn post needs a different shape as the first three seconds of a reel or the headline of a Meta ad.

Sprites writes the hooks and, if you ask, the post that follows each one. It does not publish or schedule organic posts; the copy goes to your team to post. The paid version is different: a hook that tests well organically can go straight into a Meta or TikTok ad that Sprites builds and stages for approval.

Inputs and outputs

What you provide

  • Three to ten posts that performed: paste the text or share the links
  • Your topic, audience and the platforms you post on
  • Your brand voice notes or a few of your own posts, so the hooks sound like you
  • Optional: the product or offer the posts should eventually lead to

What you get

  • A breakdown of each example post: the pattern it uses and why it holds attention
  • Twenty or more hooks for your topic, grouped by pattern with the pattern named
  • Platform-specific rewrites: first line for LinkedIn, first three seconds for short video, headline for ads
  • A ranked shortlist with a note on which hooks suit which stage of the funnel
  • Optional full posts or ad copy built out from the hooks you pick

How it runs

  1. Step 1

    Read the examples

Sprites reads the posts you provide, or researches strong posts on the topic, and names the specific device each one uses in its opening line.

  2. Step 2

    Map patterns to your topic

Works out which patterns fit your subject and audience and which would feel forced, and explains the choice so your team can reuse it.

  3. Step 3

    Write the hooks

Drafts a batch per pattern in your voice, keeping each hook specific to your product or point of view rather than generic curiosity bait.

  4. Step 4

    Adapt by platform

Rewrites the shortlist for the format each platform rewards: line length for LinkedIn, spoken rhythm for video, character limits for ad headlines.

  5. Step 5

    Hand off or extend

You pick the hooks to post. Ask for the full post behind any of them, or send the winners into a Meta or TikTok ad that Sprites stages for your approval.

Frequently asked questions

How does the hook generator analyze viral posts?

+

It reads the text of each post you paste or link and names the device in the opening line: a specific number, a contrarian claim, a story cut off mid-sentence, a question aimed at one reader. It then applies those devices to your topic. Sprites does not pull engagement data from social platforms.

What if I do not have example posts?

+

Sprites researches the topic on the web, finds how the strongest writers on it open their posts and articles, and uses those as the reference set. You can add your own examples later to steer the voice.

Does it match my brand voice?

+

Yes, when you give it something to match. Share voice notes or a few of your own posts and Sprites writes in that register. Hooks that borrow a pattern but not the voice of the original are the point.

Does Sprites post the content for me?

+

No. Sprites writes hooks and posts; it does not publish or schedule organic content on LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok or X. It does run paid campaigns, so a hook that wins organically can become a Meta or TikTok ad that Sprites builds and stages for your approval.

Can I run this from Claude or ChatGPT?

+

Yes. Sprites ships an official MCP server, so you can paste the posts and get the hook bank from Claude, ChatGPT, Grok or any MCP-compatible assistant, or use the Sprites app.
