Midjourney is the company that famously never markets. No sales team, no launch campaigns, a Discord server and word of mouth. Ramp's October 2026 AI category data has it as the most-purchased Image and Video AI vendor, bought by 41% of the buyers in the category.
It also runs paid ads. 172 on Google, with 344 headline and description variations, and 88 live on Meta as of 13 October 2026. Quietly. Not one of the 199 image and video variations on Google mentions a price, a plan, a feature or a competitor.
The ad is the product's own gallery. 43 Google variations send the click to midjourney.com/explore?tab=top: the feed of what other people made.

- 79 of 233 headlines contain "imagin": Imagination, Imagine

Google: the gallery is the landing page
Where the clicks go
| Destination | Variations |
|---|---|
| midjourney.com (homepage, any spelling) | 161 |
| midjourney.com/explore?tab=top | 43 |
| /create, /start, /for-creatives, docs | 6 |
| Destination not shown | 134 |
43 is a floor, because 134 variations show no destination at all. Of the 210 that do, 20% go to the gallery.
It is a strange landing page. A feed of other people's images, ranked by the community, no signup form above the fold. Midjourney does not explain the product. It shows what the product made and lets a stranger scroll.
Every one of those 43 variations is video or image. Not one text ad points there. Text ads, the ones people type searches into, go to the homepage.
Headlines that sell a feeling
| Headline | Variations |
|---|---|
| Bring Your Ideas to Life | 20 |
| Your Imagination, Unlocked | 11 |
| A Vehicle for Imagination | 8 |
| Explore Your Imagination | 8 |
| Immersive creations await | 7 |
Across the 199 image and video variations: no price, no plan, no feature name, no version number, no comparison. "A Vehicle for Imagination" is the whole pitch.
The description under it is just as soft. "Transform your imagination into stunning visuals. Explore limitless creative possibilities" runs in 40 variations. "Create visual masterpieces with Midjourney, an engine for your exploration" in 12.
The exception: search text
The text ads are different, and I should say so. 145 of the 344 variations are text, and a few of them do talk money. 5 mention plans "from $10 / month". 8 mention plans. Two read "Free Trials". "Comparing Midjourney Plans" shows up three times.
So the rule is not "never mention price". The rule is: price lives where someone typed a question. Where nobody asked, the ad is a picture and a mood.
When it started
| First shown | Ads |
|---|---|
| Before 2026 | 19 |
| January to May 2026 | 10 |
| August 2026 | 17 |
| September 2026 | 60 |
| October 2026 | 1 |
The earliest dated ad is 28 August 2024. For a year the account was a trickle: 19 dated ads before 2026. Then August and September 2026 account for 77 of the 107 dated ads. 128 of the 172 have shown in the last week.
Quiet is not the same as small.
Meta: one line, 88 times
88 live Meta ads. Of the 30 newest, 15 are video, 12 carousel and 3 static, and every one goes to midjourney.com. 28 use the CTA "Learn more". 2 say "Subscribe".
| Headline | Ads |
|---|---|
| Create at the speed of your imagination | 15 |
| Explore What's Possible | 4 |
| Edit at the Speed of Your Imagination | 4 |
| Your Imagination, Unlocked | 3 |
| Keep the Car. Change the World Around It. | 2 |
| Introducing Midjourney Video, Bring Your Ideas to Life | 1 each |
27 of the 30 newest launched on 2 October 2026. One launch day, the whole set at once. The other three followed on 3, 4 and 11 October.
The sharper difference is one word. None of the 30 says "AI". 41% of 263 ads from rival image and video AI tools do. Midjourney says "imagination" in 24 of its 30 (80%). The rivals say it in 3 of 263.
It is the same line as Google, "imagination" again, with one change. Meta is where the product gets named: Video, and the Editor. "Edit at the Speed of Your Imagination" and "Keep the Car. Change the World Around It." carry the editing feature, 6 of the 30. Even there the headline is a sentence, not a spec.
What actually makes this work
The product is the creative. The community gallery is a feed of ads Midjourney never had to make, from people who made them for free. Sending paid clicks there turns users' work into the landing page.
Then the copy gets out of the way. One feeling, 79 times. No price on the display side, no feature race, no rival named. A reader who already has a picture in their head does not need a comparison table.
That only works for a brand with a product that looks like this. Most can't. But the pattern travels: put the best output of the product where the click lands, and keep the headline to a sentence.
Break down your own market
Every live Midjourney ad is on the Midjourney ads page, and the rest of the category is in the Sprites ads library. Creative analytics does the same for your own account and your competitors: every live ad, the hooks, the landing pages and what changed this month.
