The Whop affiliate program pays a commission, 30% by default, on purchases made through your link to a whop. Every seller sets their own rate, chooses whether it recurs on subscription renewals, and can give individual affiliates custom terms. Commissions clear after a 30-day waiting period and land in your Whop balance. A separate seller-referral program pays a share of Whop’s revenue from businesses you bring to the platform for their first six months.
Last reviewed September 5, 2026. Sprites is independent of Whop. Rates and rules below come from Whop’s affiliate documentation, its earnings terms and fee schedule as accessed on that date, and dated public threads.
The two Whop affiliate programs
| Product affiliate | Seller referral | |
|---|---|---|
| Who you refer | Buyers, to a specific whop | Businesses, to sell on Whop |
| Who sets the rate | The seller (30% global default) | Whop |
| What it pays on | Each purchase through your link: one-time or, if the seller chooses, every recurring payment | A share of Whop’s revenue from that seller for six months, then it stops |
| Waiting period | 30 days from the referred purchase | Per Whop’s earnings terms |
| Fee | 1.25% affiliate fee per transaction | Per Whop’s earnings terms |
| Eligibility | 18 or older, Whop account in good standing | Same, plus Whop approval |
Most of the search demand around “whop affiliate” is about the first program, so the rest of this guide is about product affiliates unless it says otherwise.
How to become a Whop affiliate
- Open the Affiliates area of your Whop account and go to the Affiliate Marketplace. Programs are listed with industry, commission rate, affiliate earnings and conversions to date, earnings per click and conversion rate (Whop blog, January 11, 2026).
- Pick a program and click Become affiliate, then View assets to get your link and any promotional material. For a whop you already belong to, the Affiliates button and the Refer buyers tab hold the same assets; sellers can also add you by email, in which case the link arrives from Whop.
- Promote within the rules. Whop’s earnings terms prohibit paid search ads on the keyword “Whop” and variants such as “Whop discount” or “Whop coupon” without written approval, misrepresenting yourself as the seller, and content that is defamatory, adult, violent or infringing. Self-referrals and coordinated fake purchases are fraud and end in clawbacks.
- Track it in the dashboard. Clicks, conversions and earnings per program. Sub-affiliates are not supported, so a referral made by someone you recruited is not tracked to you.
- Get paid. Commissions release to your Whop balance 30 days after the referred purchase. Withdraw with the payout method available in your country; keep the account open, because the earnings terms require it to stay open for 60 days after termination to receive a final payment.

How to set up affiliates for your whop
The seller side lives at Dashboard, then Marketing, then Affiliates. Whop’s documentation (accessed September 5, 2026) describes four decisions:
- Global affiliate rate. The commission offered to anyone who promotes you. It defaults to 30% and can be any percentage.
- Member affiliate rate. A separate rate for your existing members who refer others. Set it to 0% and members simply get the global rate.
- Custom rates for specific people. Enter the affiliate’s Whop email, choose a percentage or a fixed amount, choose recurring or first-payment only, and pick which of your whops it covers.
- Archiving. An archived affiliate stops earning on new referrals but keeps recurring commission from sales they already made. Suspected fraud goes to Whop support.

Two seller-side cautions from public threads. An August 17, 2026 r/founder post describes a first “customer” whose buyer and affiliate accounts were created together, paid with a payment flagged high-risk, and never collected the product: self-referral fraud on a fresh store. The poster turned global affiliates off until they had sales history, which is a reasonable default. And a March 11, 2026 r/AffiliateMarket post from the other side describes $14,700 in commissions frozen when Whop removed the promoted product and called its affiliate rate unusually high; the earnings terms permit that, so a rate far above 30% is a risk signal for both parties.
Commission, fees and payout math
What a $100 recurring subscription pays an affiliate at the default rate, using Whop’s fee schedule as of September 5, 2026:
| Step | Amount |
|---|---|
| Referred payment | $100.00 per month |
| Commission at 30% | $30.00 |
| Whop affiliate fee, 1.25% of the transaction | About $1.25 deducted |
| Released to balance | 30 days after each payment |
| Withdrawal, next-day ACH | $2.50 per payout |
| Withdrawal, instant bank deposit | 4% plus $1.00 per payout |
| Withdrawal, crypto or Venmo | 5% plus $1.00 per payout |
Two consequences. Recurring commission on a subscription is the whole point: one referral to a $100-a-month whop that stays six months is worth about $170 after fees, against $28 or so on a one-time sale. And withdrawal fees are per payout, so batching withdrawals matters more than the commission percentage for small affiliates.
Affiliates vs Content Rewards vs ads for a Whop seller
| Affiliate program | Content Rewards (clipping) | Paid ads | |
|---|---|---|---|
| You pay for | Sales, after they happen | Verified views, up front | Impressions or clicks, up front |
| Minimum | None | $1,000 per campaign plus a 10% fee | Whatever the platform minimum is |
| Who does the work | Partners with an audience that trusts them | Clippers, at volume | You, an agency or an ad agent |
| What you learn | Which partners and pages sell | Views per post | Cost per signup and per sale, per creative |
| Main risk | Self-referral fraud and clawbacks | Bot views and budget spent on low-effort posts | Spending before the creative is right |
The three stack well: use clipping or ads to make the audience aware, affiliates to convert the people those partners already reach, and the ad account to measure what a customer costs. For how the per-view side works, read the Whop clipping guide and the Content Rewards guide. For the paid side, Whop’s ad examples show what a creator-economy business runs on Meta, Google and LinkedIn, and you can browse ads from other companies for comparison.
Where an ad agent fits
Affiliates are cheap to start and slow to compound, because the partners who sell are the ones with an audience, and finding out which pages and hooks convert is the same research a paid campaign needs. Sprites does that research from the public ad libraries and your own accounts, and runs the campaigns with every change reviewed before it goes live. Analyze advertising with Sprites when you want the measured side of the stack handled.
Frequently asked questions
What is the Whop affiliate program?
Two programs. Product affiliates earn a commission, 30% by default and set by each seller, on purchases made through their link to a whop. Seller referrals earn a share of Whop’s revenue from businesses they bring to the platform, for the first six months of that seller’s activity.
How much commission do Whop affiliates earn?
The global default is 30% of each purchase, but every seller can change it, set a separate rate for existing members, give individual affiliates a custom percentage or fixed amount, and choose whether it applies to every recurring payment or only the first one. Whop deducts a 1.25% affiliate fee per transaction.
When do Whop affiliate payouts arrive?
There is a 30-day waiting period between a referred purchase and the commission being released to your Whop balance. From there you withdraw with the payout method for your country; Whop’s fee schedule lists next-day ACH at $2.50, instant bank deposit at 4% plus $1.00, and crypto or Venmo at 5% plus $1.00 per payout.
Where is the Whop affiliate dashboard?
In your Whop account under Affiliates. The Affiliate Marketplace lists programs with their commission rate, earnings to date, conversions, earnings per click and conversion rate; Refer buyers holds your links and assets for whops you already belong to. Sellers manage the program from Dashboard, then Marketing, then Affiliates.
Can Whop hold or claw back affiliate earnings?
Yes. Whop’s earnings terms allow commissions to be withheld or reversed for fraud, chargebacks, refunds or violations of the terms, and Whop does not guarantee its tracking captures every referral. A March 11, 2026 Reddit post describes $14,700 in commissions frozen after the promoted product was removed from the marketplace.
Is the Whop affiliate program better than Content Rewards for a seller?
Affiliates cost nothing until a sale happens and reward partners who can sell; Content Rewards buys views up front and rewards volume. Sellers with a proven offer and a price that supports a 30% cut usually run affiliates first; sellers who need awareness before anyone will buy start with clipping or ads.
