DCO (Dynamic Creative Optimization)
Dynamic Creative Optimization generates and tests ad creative variants automatically — swapping headlines, images, CTAs, and compositions — then shifts budget toward the variants performing best for each audience.
DCO is how paid-social teams scale creative testing beyond what a human designer can produce manually. A DCO system takes a master creative or brief, generates N variants programmatically, launches all variants into the ad platform, and lets the platform's algorithm (or a separate optimizer) shift budget toward the winners.
Meta Advantage+ and TikTok Spark include native DCO features — upload multiple headlines, descriptions, and creatives, and Meta or TikTok assembles variants. Third-party DCO platforms (Hunch, Smartly) add deeper template control and cross-channel variant generation.
AI-agent DCO is the emerging pattern: instead of configuring master templates and variant slots, you describe the campaign and the agent generates variants from the product + brand + past-performance data. Human approval gates still run, but the production side collapses from days to minutes.
