What this template does

The Meta Ad Library shows every active ad a page runs, but reading it by hand is slow and it tells you nothing about which ads matter. This template has the Meta agent do the reading. It pulls the active ads for each competitor page, groups them by concept, and uses run length and the number of variants as the signal: an ad that has stayed live for months, or that exists in ten variations, is one the advertiser has data to keep.

The report covers angles, offers, hooks, formats and landing pages, then compares them with what you run today. Sprites also draws on the Sprites Ads Library, which holds ads from Meta, Google, LinkedIn and TikTok, so you can see the same competitor across channels. The result is a test plan: the gaps worth attacking, the proven formats to borrow, and draft ads that the Meta agent can stage in your account for approval.

Inputs and outputs

What you provide

  • Competitor Facebook page names or URLs, or a category to search
  • Your own page or ad account, so the comparison is against what you actually run
  • The market and the objective you care about, for example US leads or UK ecommerce sales
  • Optional: a date range or a focus on video, static or carousel

What you get

  • Per competitor: active ad count, formats, longest-running ads and how many variants each concept has
  • The angles and offers each competitor leads with, with example ads quoted
  • Landing page and offer patterns across the set
  • A gap analysis against your own account: what they test that you do not, and the reverse
  • Draft ads for the top opportunities, ready to stage in Meta Ads for approval

How it runs

  1. Step 1

    Collect the ads

The Meta agent fetches each competitor's active ads from the Meta Ad Library, with start dates, formats, copy and creative, and adds matching ads from the Sprites Ads Library where the competitor runs on other channels.

  2. Step 2

    Group by concept

Ads are clustered into concepts so ten variants of one hook read as one idea. Run length and variant count give each concept a persistence score.

  3. Step 3

    Read the strategy

For each competitor, Sprites summarizes the angles, offers, hooks, formats and landing pages they rely on, and where they have shifted recently.

  4. Step 4

    Compare with your account

Your own active ads are read the same way, so the report shows what the market is testing that you are not, and where you already lead.

  5. Step 5

    Draft and stage

Sprites writes ads for the opportunities you pick, generates creative if needed, and stages them in the campaign you choose. Nothing goes live until you approve.

Frequently asked questions

Where does the competitor ad data come from?

+

From the Meta Ad Library, which publishes every active ad a Facebook page runs, and from the Sprites Ads Library, which collects ads across Meta, Google, LinkedIn and TikTok. Sprites reads copy, creative, format and start date; it does not see a competitor's spend or results.

How does it know which competitor ads are working?

+

It cannot see their metrics, so it uses persistence: ads that have run for a long time and concepts that exist in many variants are the ones the advertiser has data to keep. That is the same signal experienced media buyers read in the Ad Library.

Can it analyze competitors on Google, LinkedIn or TikTok too?

+

Yes, through the Sprites Ads Library, which holds ads from those channels alongside Meta. Ask for a cross-channel view and the report shows how a competitor's messaging changes by platform.

Does Sprites create ads in my account from the analysis?

+

On request. Pick the opportunities you want to test and the Meta agent writes the ads, generates creative if needed and stages them in your ad set. They sit in a review card until you approve them.

Can I run the analysis from Claude, ChatGPT or Grok?

+

Yes. Sprites ships an official MCP server, so you can ask for a competitor ad review from Claude, ChatGPT, Grok or any MCP-compatible assistant and get the same report and staging flow.

Is it allowed to analyze competitor ads this way?

+

Yes. The Meta Ad Library is a public transparency tool and Sprites reads it as any visitor can, through Meta's own interfaces. Sprites does not access competitor accounts or private data.
