Creative strategist role
The role is to pick the angle, write the hook, brief the execution, and say what the last test proved.
Creative strategist responsibilities, in the order the week actually runs: read the account and the competitor ads, name the angle that is missing, write hooks for it, brief the format, and come back when the test has a result. A brand creative strategist does the same job with the brand’s own constraints in the brief: claims you cannot make, lines you cannot use, products that are out of stock.
A creative strategist job description that is honest does not say “own the creative vision.” It says: produce a testable brief every week, and kill the angles that lost. The creative strategy page is the plan. This page is the person who keeps it.
What the role is not
A creative strategist is not the media buyer, and not the person who only saves ads into a swipe file.
The buyer decides budget, audience and bid. The strategist decides the argument. When one person does both, the account still needs both jobs named, or the testing stops the week the account is on fire.
Saving ads is research. The job starts when the saved ad becomes a brief for your product. Competitor ads is the read. The hook generator is the first draft of the lines.
