Find What Customers Complain About
When No Brand Is Listening

Sprites searches the subreddits where your audience talks, reads the threads, and ranks the pain points with quotes and sources, then turns them into ad angles, content ideas and, if you want, a Reddit Ads campaign.

What this template does

Reddit is where people describe problems in full sentences, name the products they tried, and argue about what actually worked. This template has Sprites read it for you. Give it a topic, a product category or a competitor, and it finds the relevant subreddits, reads the threads and comment chains through web research, and groups what it finds into pain points: the recurring frustration, the workaround people use, the product they blame, the question that keeps getting asked.

Each pain point comes with the thread it came from, representative quotes and a sense of how often it appears, so you can judge the reading yourself. Sprites then turns the findings into marketing: ad hooks in the community's own phrasing, objections a landing page should answer, and article topics for the questions people keep asking. Because Sprites also runs Reddit Ads, the same thread can go on to build a campaign that targets those subreddits, staged for your approval.

Inputs and outputs

What you provide

  • The topic, product category, competitor or problem to research
  • Who the customer is, so the right subreddits are chosen
  • Optional: subreddits you already know matter, and a time window
  • What you want out: pain points only, or pain points plus ad angles and content ideas

What you get

  • A ranked list of pain points with representative quotes, thread links and the subreddits they come from
  • The workarounds and products people mention, including competitors and what they are blamed for
  • Recurring questions phrased as the community asks them, as content and FAQ topics
  • Ad hooks and objection-handling lines written in the community's language
  • On request, a Reddit Ads campaign targeting the relevant subreddits, staged for approval

How it runs

  1. Step 1

    Find the subreddits

Sprites searches for the communities where the topic is discussed and lists them with why each is relevant. You can add or remove before it reads.

  2. Step 2

    Read the threads

Posts and comment chains are read through web research, including older threads that still get replies, which is where the durable complaints live.

  3. Step 3

    Group the pain points

Frustrations, workarounds, blamed products and repeated questions are grouped and ranked by how often they appear and how strongly they are stated.

  4. Step 4

    Write the angles

Hooks, objection lines and content topics are written from the pain points, each with the quote and thread that inspired it.

  5. Step 5

    Take it to market

Ask Sprites to build ads from the angles for Meta, Google or Reddit Ads, or to write articles for the recurring questions. Every campaign is staged for approval before it spends.

Frequently asked questions

How does Sprites read Reddit?

+

Through web research: it searches for relevant subreddits and threads and reads the public posts and comments, the same content a visitor sees. It does not need your Reddit account, and it does not post or comment on your behalf.

How are pain points ranked?

+

By how many threads and comments mention them and how strongly people state them, with both shown. Each pain point keeps its quotes and thread links so you can read the source and decide whether the reading is right.

Can it research a competitor specifically?

+

Yes. Name the competitor and Sprites finds the threads where people review, complain about or ask for alternatives to it. Those threads usually give you the reasons customers leave, which is the most useful ad angle a challenger can have.

Can Sprites run ads on Reddit from the findings?

+

Yes. Sprites runs Reddit Ads through the official partner API. The subreddits it found become the targeting and the pain points become the creative, and the campaign is staged for your approval before it spends.

Can I do this research from Claude or ChatGPT?

+

Yes. Sprites ships an official MCP server, so the same Reddit research and the follow-on ad or content work run from Claude, ChatGPT, Grok or any MCP-compatible assistant.
