Why it happens
The ads are still in review or rejected
The ads are still in review or rejected
Every new or edited ad goes through review. An ad group whose ads are all pending or rejected has nothing to serve.
A manual bid below the auction
Manual bids and cost targets set under what the auction clears win almost nothing. The ad group reads active and stays dark.
Targeting too narrow
A handful of small communities, a keyword list nobody discusses, one country and one device. There is not enough inventory to buy.
A paused parent or a schedule
The campaign is paused, not started yet, past its end date or at its spend cap.
Billing
A failed payment or an unfunded account stops every campaign at once.
How to fix it, step by step
Check the ads
In Reddit Ads Manager, open the ad group and look at each ad status. Pending review means wait. Rejected means fix and resubmit.
Check the parents
Confirm the campaign and ad group are active, inside their start and end dates, and the campaign has not hit its spend cap.
Check billing
Open Billing in Ads Manager and fix any failed payment or empty balance.
Loosen the bid
Move a manual bid up toward the suggested range or switch the ad group to automatic bidding (maximize volume) while you diagnose.
Widen targeting
Add related communities and interests, broaden locations, and drop device restrictions you do not need.

Sprites fixes this
Or let Sprites fix it
Sprites reads every level of the account, finds what is holding delivery, and proposes the change. You approve every change.
What Sprites does
- Reads configured and effective status for every campaign, ad group and ad, the ad group’s delivery status, bid strategy and schedule, and each ad’s rejection reason.
- Shows impressions and spend by ad group against the previous period, so you see exactly when delivery stopped.
- Proposes the fix: reactivate the paused level, raise or switch the bid, or widen communities, interests and locations.
What it doesn't do
- Speed up Reddit's review
- Fix billing or a payment hold
Questions
How long does Reddit take to review ads?
Usually within 48 business hours, sometimes longer depending on the content. Ads do not deliver until approved.
Why does my Reddit ad group say active but get no impressions?
Usually the bid is below the auction or the targeting is too narrow. Raise the bid or switch to automatic bidding, then widen communities and interests.
Do edits send a Reddit ad back to review?
Yes. Edited ads are reviewed again before they serve.
What is the minimum budget on Reddit?
Reddit sets a floor of 5 dollars a day in account currency for a daily spend goal. A budget at the floor buys very little delivery on competitive targeting.
Is targeting a few subreddits a problem?
It can be. Small communities have little inventory. Add related communities and interests, or use broader targeting while you learn what converts.
