The 30-second verdict

HeyGen is the avatar tool to beat for ads: presenter, twin, translation, 4.0 from 4,035 Trustpilot reviews. Synthesia is the alternative when the video is training. Creatify is the alternative when the input is a product URL. Sprites is the alternative when you need the campaign, not another avatar.

Presenter ads this has to beat

People on screen, from ads that ran. An avatar is a substitute for this, and the viewer can tell.

Who to switch to

The short answer

  • Synthesia, for training and localization. Not a paid-social hook tool, and not given its own page here.
  • Creatify for URL-to-video product ads.
  • Arcads for stock UGC actors.
  • The avatar category page if you are still choosing the job.

Price against Sprites

The table above is the money. The feature table is the job.

Switch for the job you actually have. A cheaper generator that only exports a file is not a replacement for a tool that launches, and the reverse is also true.

What you are walking into

  1. Stay, if the tool already does the one job you bought it for and the price is the price you can see.
  2. Move the rendering to the specialist: Creatify for a product URL, HeyGen for a presenter, Arcads for a stock actor.
  3. Move the launch to Sprites if the file exists and nobody is running the account.

Sprites research before an ad is written

The other tool's product screen is not shown here. We do not have a capture of it, and a Sprites screenshot with their name on it would be a fake.

What follows is the Sprites research step: the account and the offer, before any creative is generated.

Reviews

Trustpilot, October 2, 2026: HeyGen 4.0 from 4,035 reviews. Creatify 3.8 from 834. Arcads 2.7 from 179. Sprites reviews are on reviews.

Do not leave HeyGen for a cheaper avatar. Leave it when the job is not an avatar.

Frequently asked questions

How much does HeyGen cost?

Creator is $29 a month, or $24 billed yearly. A 30-second avatar ad works out to about $0.75 to $1.16, and about $5.50 if you add a Veo 3 b-roll clip. Figures from HeyGen’s pricing page on October 2, 2026.

Can I use a HeyGen avatar in an ad?

Paid plans are marketed for commercial use and remove the watermark. The free plan is watermarked and personal-only. Sprites does not replace that licence. It can launch a video you already have the right to run.

Is a talking head a different product?

No. A talking head is an avatar framed as a presenter. HeyGen is the tool that leads that category. The page for the query is the AI avatar generator.

Want the ads launched, not just exported?

Sprites writes the copy and the image concepts, then launches on Meta, Google, LinkedIn or TikTok after you approve. Plans start at $66 a month billed yearly.

Sprites vs HeyGen

Where Sprites fits

Sprites is an AI marketing agent: it reads your Meta, Google and LinkedIn ad accounts, proposes each change and makes it once you approve it. The research side is free. The Sprites ads library shows the live creative of named brands with run dates and destinations, including HeyGen’s own ads, and the Meta, Google and LinkedIn ads libraries slice the same creative by platform.
