Why it happens
Suggestive imagery
Suggestive imagery
Lingerie, swimwear or body shots read as partial nudity or sexually suggestive, which limits the ad.
Sexual products or dating services
Sexual wellness products and some dating services are restricted by category.
Suggestive wording
Copy with sexual innuendo triggers the same restriction as an image.
How to fix it, step by step
Find the exact policy topic
Go to Campaigns, then Ads, and hover the Disapproved or Eligible (limited) label in the Status column. It names the policy and the part of the ad it applies to. Tools, then Troubleshooting, then Policy manager lists every affected ad in one place.
Decide if limited reach is acceptable
An Eligible (limited) ad still serves on Search to adults. If that is enough, leave it.
Swap the image or rewrite the copy
For full reach, replace suggestive images with product or lifestyle shots and remove innuendo from the text.
Resubmit or appeal
Saving an edited ad resubmits it for review. If you think the call was wrong, or the change was made outside the ad, open Policy manager, choose Appeal and pick Dispute decision or Made changes to comply with policy. Each ad gets 3 appeals, and only decisions from the last 6 months can be appealed from the account.

Sprites diagnoses this
Sprites diagnoses it
Sprites shows which ads the sexual content policy limits and how much reach it costs them.
What Sprites does
- Reads the policy status of your ads and lists every one limited or disapproved for sexual content.
- Rewrites suggestive search ad copy, once you approve.
What it doesn't do
- It does not edit images already inside Performance Max asset groups as part of this check.
- It does not file appeals or change your landing page.
Questions
Can I advertise lingerie on Google Ads?
Yes, on Search, with restrictions. Images that read as partial nudity limit the ad to adult users and block it from Display and YouTube.
What does Eligible (limited) mean for sexual content?
The ad can serve, but only where age, SafeSearch settings and local law allow, so reach is lower.
Why can my ad not run on YouTube?
Sexual content ads cannot run on YouTube or the Display Network at all, only on Search.
Are dating ads restricted?
Dating services are allowed with restrictions, and sexual dating content is restricted further.
