Why it happens
The ad is written in a language Google Ads does not support
The ad is written in a language Google Ads does not support
Google reviews ads in a fixed list of languages. Text outside it cannot be reviewed and is disapproved.
Mixed languages or scripts in one asset
A headline that switches language halfway, or a transliterated phrase written in another script, reads to the reviewer as no language at all.
Gibberish, keyword strings or codes
Text made of SKUs, keyword lists or made-up words is treated as incomprehensible rather than as a language.
How to fix it, step by step
Find the exact policy topic
Go to Campaigns, then Ads, and hover the Disapproved or Eligible (limited) label in the Status column. It names the policy and the part of the ad it applies to. Tools, then Troubleshooting, then Policy manager lists every affected ad in one place.
Rewrite in one supported language
Edit the flagged asset so each headline and description is in a single supported language. Keep brand and product names as they are.
Match language targeting and the landing page
In the campaign settings under Languages, target the language the ad is written in, and send the click to a page in that same language.
Resubmit or appeal
Saving an edited ad resubmits it for review. If you think the call was wrong, or the change was made outside the ad, open Policy manager, choose Appeal and pick Dispute decision or Made changes to comply with policy. Each ad gets 3 appeals, and only decisions from the last 6 months can be appealed from the account.

Sprites fixes this
Or let Sprites fix it
Sprites finds the ads flagged for unsupported language and rewrites them in your campaign language.
What Sprites does
- Reads the policy status of your ads and names the policy topic on each disapproved one.
- Rewrites the flagged headlines and descriptions in the language the campaign targets.
- Reads each ad back after the edit so you see exactly which text landed.
- You approve every change before it goes live.
What it doesn't do
- It does not translate or edit your landing page, so a page in another language stays as it is.
Questions
What does unsupported language mean in Google Ads?
The ad text is in a language Google does not review ads in, or mixes languages so it cannot be read as one.
Can I mix English and another language in one ad?
Keep each asset in one language. A brand name or a common loanword is fine; a headline that switches languages is a risk.
Does the landing page have to be in the same language?
It should be. Ads, language targeting and the landing page in one language is the setup that reviews cleanly and converts best.
Will changing my campaign language targeting fix it?
Not on its own. The disapproval is about the ad text, so the text has to change.
