Why it happens
It was edited again
It was edited again
Any change to text, creative, link or targeting sends the ad back to the start of the queue. Three quick edits can mean three reviews.
A restricted or sensitive category
Health, finance, dating, alcohol, politics and similar topics get a closer look and often a human reviewer.
A new or recently restricted account
New ad accounts and accounts with recent rejections get reviewed more carefully.
The landing page is slow or blocked
Review checks the destination. A page that times out, redirects oddly or blocks crawlers holds the ad up.
Plain queue volume
Around big sales periods review is slower for everyone.
How to fix it, step by step
Check the Delivery column
In Ads Manager, In review means the ad is waiting. Rejected means it is done, with a reason. Do not confuse the two.
Stop editing
Leave the ad, its ad set and its campaign alone for 24 hours. Every edit restarts review.
Check the landing page loads
Open it on a phone, logged out. It should load fast, without a wall, and match what the ad says.
Plan around it
For launches, publish ads a day or two early, paused at the campaign. Review runs on the ad, so they are approved when you switch on.
If it passes 48 hours
Contact Meta support from Business Support Home. Duplicating the ad does not jump the queue.

Sprites diagnoses this
Sprites diagnoses it
Sprites cannot speed up Meta's review. It shows you which ads are waiting and which were already rejected, so you only touch the ones that need it.
What Sprites does
- Lists every ad's effective status across the account, so in-review and rejected ads show up beside their ad sets and spend.
- Reads fresh status for the ads you care about, with the blocking parent named when the hold is above the ad.
- Checks the destination page for slow loads and broken links and resources.
What it doesn't do
- Speed up Meta's review
- Contact Meta support for you
- Read Account Quality
Questions
How long does Facebook ad review take?
Most ads are reviewed within 24 hours. Restricted categories and new accounts can take longer.
Does editing an ad in review make it faster?
No. It restarts the review. Leave it alone.
Does duplicating the ad help?
No. The copy enters the same queue. Duplicates of a rejected ad also count against the account.
Do budget changes send an ad back to review?
Review runs on the ad, its creative and its destination. Changing the ad itself is what restarts it. Avoid unnecessary edits anywhere in the campaign while you wait.
What if it has been in review for days?
Past 48 hours, contact Meta support from Business Support Home and check that the landing page loads cleanly.
