Sign in with the Reddit account that administers the Ads account. Sprites uses Reddit’s advertiser OAuth; there is no self-serve API key to generate under the current policy.

A Sprites consent screen opens in the browser. Sign in with the account that holds the platform connection and approve what Muse may do.

The first time Muse calls a Sprites tool it asks. Choose “Allow for this task” for reads; Sprites holds every write for your approval regardless.

Ask Muse to save the working connector as a skill called Sprites, so “ask Sprites” works from any later conversation.

Connect Reddit Ads to Muse, answered
Why do most Reddit MCP servers fail for Muse?
Most depend on self-serve API keys Reddit stopped issuing, or on anonymous requests Reddit has refused since mid-2026. Muse also cannot reach a localhost stdio server. A hosted connector that signs in with advertiser OAuth is the shape that still works.
What can Muse do with Reddit Ads through Sprites?
Read spend, CTR, conversions, CPA and leads by campaign, ad group and ad; research which communities discuss the problem you solve; draft copy in the register of a target subreddit; and propose pausing wasteful ad groups or launching a campaign around a community list. Every write waits for approval.
Can Muse target a specific subreddit?
Through Sprites, community targeting is part of the campaign proposal. Muse does not scrape Reddit on its own for targeting; it asks Sprites, which builds the structure around the communities you approve.
Does Muse post as a user in subreddits?
No. This connection is the Reddit Ads account — paid placements — not an organic Reddit user session. Organic research of public threads is a separate read Sprites can do; it is not the same as posting as you.
Is Reddit Ads available on the same Muse connector as Google and Meta?
Yes. One Sprites endpoint reaches every ad account connected in the workspace. You do not build a second Custom Connector for Reddit once Sprites is already a Muse skill.

- Early testers report that an OAuth sign-in takes more back-and-forth in Muse than a static API key does. Sprites signs in with OAuth, and we are testing that handoff now.
Common questions
Do I need a Reddit API key to connect Muse?
Not a self-serve one. Sign in through Sprites with the advertiser account. Pasting an old personal API key into Muse will not reach Ads Manager.
Can Muse see private subreddit content?
No. Research covers public discussion relevant to targeting. Private or quarantined communities stay out of reach.
Will a Muse routine pause Reddit spend overnight?
A scheduled Muse task can propose a pause through Sprites; the pause still needs your approval. The schedule does the noticing; a person does the deciding.
